Packing of FP Cotton Bales in Cotton cloth for the season 2000-2001.

SUB.:- Packing of FP Cotton Bales in Cotton cloth for the season 2000-2001.

In order to avoid the contamination problem of hessian strings in the cotton, which is an evil to the entire textile processing.  Many mills, specially from Export Oriented Units are constantly asking for supply FP Cotton bales packed in cotton cloth instead of hessian cloth.  At present, the bales are packed in hessain cloth.  This affecting the buying from quality conscious mills, therefore, taking into consideration the growing demand from the mills Federation has decided to make use of cotton cloth instead of hessain cloth for packing FP Cotton bales from season 2000-2001.  This will not have any additional financial burden on the ginning and pressing factories, on the contrary it will prove beneficial to them.  All ginning and pressing factories are requested to make use of cotton cloth for packing the bales as per cloth specification give below.

c) Width of the cloth 127 cm.
d) Length of the cloth in a one cotton bale - 1000 Meter.

Since this is first season to use cotton cloth for packing hence Minimum 25% pressed bales should be packed in cotton cloth.  The necessary amendment will be done in the agreement from coming season, if necessary Federation will issue instructions to increase the percentage of cotton cloth packed bales to specific ginning and pressing factories.

For smooth working of cotton cloth packing the following precautions should be taken while using cloth.

  1. If cotton cloth ruptures besides Iron hoops, in such cases width of the slots (galas) of press should be reduced to the size of iron hoops.
  2. In order to fix side cloth (mondha) firmly, additional double stitches should be given while stitching and trolley should be used for trasnportation of bales from ne place to another in the factory premises.
  3. The ink get spread and penetrates to the cotton if direct marking is being done.  Therefore, you are instructed to write details of press marking on 8.5x11.5 inches and paste this cloth piece to thin card board and then insert this card board in 3 iron strips of the bales.
  4. Make use of cotton thread to stitch side cloth (mondha).

All are requested to make use of cloth as per instructions given.
